Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the detrimental feedback from others kill his dream of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

He began playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn't a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil says that he's picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
