Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the dealer broadcasting "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer's 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call bet's amount is akin to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes directly to the dealer. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, with a sum equal to the initial wager. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer's hand. The bank pony's up chips even with your bet and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
